How to avoid distractions
"Focus is not about doing more things it's about doing the right thing while everything else is trying to pull you away."
We have so many distractions in our lives, so many things we could be doing. So many things are really good to do, but when we start looking right and left, we lose focus on what is important right now.
The best solution to avoid distractions is to remind ourselves: what is the most important goal we want to achieve in the next 30 days? What about 90 days? What about a year? Then we can break it down into small daily tasks. Let's do one thing that we need to do today.
Our focus is like a muscle, we need to build it to focus on that ONE thing that is important to us.
Then we have things pop up daily, look at this thing we can do, look at that. This is what we can actually do: we block time for the next 2 hours to do the most important task that we need to do. Block everything out. No phones, no distractions.
I use a tool called Toggl.com and it's fantastic. I track my time and use Focus by Toggl to organize my most important activities. Our focus is like a muscle we need to build it to focus on that ONE thing that is important to us.
